Overgrown and Forgotten ('94 Buick Roadmaster Estate)

Photoscanned Assets by Rena Fox (https://sketchfab.com/kryik1023/models), oleksiy Rysyuk (https://www.artstation.com/keyframe_dude/store), Kirk Hiatt (https://sketchfab.com/kirkhiatt), Abandoned Scans (https://sketchfab.com/realMrAnderson), and Quixel Megascans.

Another personal 3D project. With this scene, I chose only to use photogrammetry scanned assets (from a variety of sources) as the building blocks of one environment. I wanted see if I could set up a believably cohesive and detailed environment using a diverse range of 3D scans (many of which are not PBR textured, some are). Because of the simple single channel materials on some of the assets, I can't say it's exactly photorealistic, but my goal was to see how far I could push these assets to achieve a realistically detailed environment. I feel the end result is a visual style that blends the impression of near-photorealism with a slightly stylized, painterly texture. Sort of a 3D collage.

In creating the environment and composition, I found inspiration in Serj Ius' photography of Murmansk, although I'm not sure anything grounds my scene in any specific place or region (other than the North Carolina plates on the Buick). You can find Ius's photography here: https://www.calvertjournal.com/features/show/9540/chasing-light-russia-dark-winter-photography)
